Luce Ends: March 13
The daylight has been saved (now someone save me)
Am I stupid, or didn’t we do away with the whole daylight savings thing?
Look, I’m as grateful as the next person to be gifted with more sunlight that will hopefully cure some of my seasonal depression, but what happened this week can never happen again. My nervous system won’t survive it. It’s hard to say if it’s due more to the daylight we saved or Mercury being in retrograde yet again, but whatever it is has ruined my three-and-a-half-year-old possibly forever.
We are on the verge at all times. Things like, earlier this week, she woke up and immediately lost her damn mind when her dad and little sister had the AUDACITY to call her silly. My god, you’d think they’d performed an 8AM Comedy Central style roast the way she responded. My husband has been referring to her as hijacked—there’s nothing we can do, she just becomes absolutely hysterical, so much so that the only solution ended up being walking her outside in the freezing cold without a coat (I read that some country like Switzerland swears by this when their kids are acting crazy, no matter how cold—it works as a reset button, almost like how baths make sick kids feel immediately better.) She immediately apologized and was her funny (not silly!!!) self, but the damage was done. I’ve been walking on eggshells ever since.
When I’m not walking on eggshells, my two-year-old is is demanding “Johnny” aka the gorilla from Sing and I have to humor her, mostly because I’m pretty confident I’m raising the next Ariana Grande with how well she harmonizes, but also because…mom is on the brink and I need one kid to like me right now.
All of this to say….I didn’t know it was Thursday until Thursday was almost over. So if you’re here hoping for a deeply thoughtful Luce Ends, I’m sorry to say this won’t be the one. I’ve got a couple shows I’ve caught up on, several weekend sales that will make my Nancy Meyers wardrobe even more obtainable and still ZERO BOOKS I’VE READ (I’ve DNFed several, but I just can’t come on here and drag books!!! I don’t operate like that.)
So, after all that ado, let’s dive in shall we?
Like I’ve said, I’ve got some reality TV thoughts to carry us through this week’s Luce Ends—I rant on my Instagram as much as possible, but there’s only so much space and I have soooo many thoughts currently….so you’re welcome!
Southern Hospitality
We are caught up and let me tell all the doubters (not sure there are many left but to those few)—1000% WORTH IT.
For those of us who are chasing that early VPR high (but have enough self respect to not waste our time on whatever that new mess is) this is the show for you. I will admit that, if we watched Season 1, I don’t remember it, but we jumped in with Season 2 a few weeks ago and it was totally fine. The seasons are ten episodes long, they only have one part reunions (they deserve two and to not be in the clubhouse, but I digress) and, while initially you assume Maddi the DJ or Joey Bottles (who SPOILER slept with both Danielle from Summer House and Countess Luann) would be our stars, it’s Emmy who is feeding my soul in a way only the greats can.
She has the delusions of Scheana Shay, the crazy confidence of Kristen Doute and the erratic breathing patterns of an Alex McCord stressed out in Morocco and it’s a sight to behold. Worth the price of admission. Factor in the fact that these people are starting pretty terrible rumors about each other and still are able to sleep at night?
Southern Charm
I just finished season…whatever this is…and I have to say…
I’m sorry, but I can’t watch another season of these man-children arguing!!! I will, but I really really don’t want to!! Even though I hate Salley and find her boy craziness kind of depressing to watch, I still prefer it to Craig raging at people and swinging around his tiny hands!!!
Those hands are small I knowwwww.
Looking back on the season, the women are what carried me through, plus Rodrigo and my gossip girl, Austen, but I need everyone to stand up to Craig, the bully. Including production!! We don’t need him!! (I’m not entirely sure that’s true—I do worry these people wouldn’t know what to do or talk about if Craig wasn’t there pissing them off…but I’m tired of it!!)
As far as the rest of them, I love Madison, Molly is a star, I think I’m one of the only people who is suspicious of Whit, Rod needs more camera time, Venita needs new friends (aka not these people), Austen is the #1 guy in the group, Shep is still a child but the least problematic one, Charley has a stunning wardrobe but no backbone to speak of and is possibly the biggest people pleaser I’ve ever seen, why is Whitney here and Salley, while great for TV in some ways, has an inner demon inside her that will do anything to be famous, including ALLEGEDLY hookup with half the men on Bravo.
That being said…I recently have decided it’s time Bravo bring back Winter House and invite some of the fresher meat to try their hand at a share house and unfortunately…Salley would be perfect.
Summer House
Speaking of share houses….
I don’t think anyone is doing it like Summer House right now. And having them for one hour a week doesn’t feel like enough to sustain us, not when they’re churning out content like they were!! While we entered the season knowing one relationship was ending (RIP Kyle and Amanda but it’s for the best) we are currently living out a real life romcom when it comes to West and Ciara.
I knew we were in for it when the trailer dropped, but what we’ve witnessed is nothing short of magic—and we’re not even at the peak of this mountain yet!! That being said….I do need to level set expectations….expectations I think I’m responsible for raising too high, but it must be said—this week’s episode and the teaser for next week which includes a game of spin the bottle that had me KICKING MY FEET IN THE AIR, has one underlying issue that we really can’t ignore.
West Wilson is….wasted.
Don’t get me wrong, I will take any Ciesta content I can get!! And it’s summer so let the man drink!! But, after watching the episode several times and then watching him practically piss on Ciara during the game of spin the bottle (see here if you don’t know what I’m talking about) while not being able to string a sentence together….it’s just not the way I want my romance going! I’m a firm believer in the saying “a drunk man’s words are a sober man’s thoughts”, but I do eventually need that drunk man to sober up so I can hear if the sober one’s thoughts in the light of day line up (and I do not mean in the light of day at a vineyard where he’s chugging Hamptons Water from the bottle.)
I’m just preparing everyone for the let down—the moment where these two have a mature, SOBER, conversation about how they respect each other too much to go down this road again and they’re still both not on the same page but want to be friends. While the next few weeks will be glorious, that moment is right there, creeping closer and closer and I feel I must prepare people for the heartbreak we all wish these two, AND OURSELVES, could avoid!!!
In regards to everyone else….team Bailey!!!, KJ and Mia are INCREDIBLE additions, justice for Levi who deserves a testimonial and I’m very curious to see who comes back to the house next year/who gets a spot on Season 2 of The City with all these break ups and makeups (also I think these new people could also be GREAT Winter House reboot editions!!! Including West and….Jesse Solomon.)
Love Is Blind Reunion
My reunion recap is here, but for those who don’t have the time for a thousand word essay, the short and sweet of it is…that reunion wasn’t half bad!! And it’s all thanks to a random doctor we never met before tonight sweeping our favorite doctor, Jess, off her feet and OBVIOUSLY Nick Lachey.
Finally, FINALLY, the Lachey’s listened. Maybe it was the Ohio of it all and the fact that Nick probably vouched for this state only for the men to come out and embarrass him or maybe it’s just the fact that it’s Season 10 and these two are just as burnt out as the rest of us, but they tried to make some of these idiots see the error of their ways and I need to give them their flowers!!
I also need to say—I trust Bri less than I did before and that’s saying something. GET AWAY FROM HER, CONNOR.
Last week I had an Anthro code for you, this week it’s Abercrombie and GAP!
As always, here are all my shopmy finds and here is my Amazon storefront for everything I’ve been updating this week!
Like I said, we’ve got an Abercrombie sale running right now WITH a stackable code (don’t ever shop a sale without a stackable code honestly). Right now dresses are 25% off AND the code AFLTK stacks another 25% on top of that…here are a few of my favorite things to stock up on.
Dresses: Like I said, all dresses are 25% off and I think this seersucker red one and this checkered one are giving Nancy Meyers chic/ I have work to do and a book to read but first I’m stopping at the farmer’s market and that’s my dream vibe
Additional 25% Off (code AFLTK): Since you’re here, might as well stock up right? I had a pair of menswear drawstring pants last summer from Abercrombie and I drove you all crazy about them…and I’m about to do it again. These linen pants and these yellow satin ones (both come in multiple colors!) are perfect paired with my favorite tuckable white tee and a pair of jellies. I also love their denim shorts (I loved the wide leg last season which I think these are very similar) if you haven’t stocked up already!!!
And if you thought the Abercrombie deal was good….GAP’s is even better! Currently they are doing 40% off site wide PLUS two stackable codes—BEST and FAMILY (10% each—I believe FAMILY only works if you’re logged into your OldNavy/ GAP account)
Drop Skirt Set: This skirt is a dupe for the STAUD skirt that I saw everywhere last year but never ordered because the STAUD one is $325!!! This one $89 PLUS the 40% off PLUS your other discounts so wayyy more affordable and the stripe option is available too!
Button Downs: There’s nothing more Nancy Meyers coded than button downs for me and I simple can’t own enough of them—I love this blue one and the linen stripe (and they have in red which I’ve wanted ever since I saw this influencer wearing one)
Toddler Set: I believe GAP kids clothes are very overpriced, but with all the stackable codes I am very tempted to drop this in my cart…very tempted
Jelly Sandals: I don’t own these so I can’t vouch for them, but I have such a visceral memory when it comes to walking into an Old Navy or GAP as a child and it smelling like jelly shoes which meant summer so I had to share!
Button Set: I LOVE a set and this set is just too cute not to share!!
Other favorite items this week include the Amazon dress you all are selling out, my favorite jellies which I mentioned above, the OUAI thickening spray that I LOVE, the Spanx booty boost leggings that are 50% off in certain colors, this glowy foundation that I've now seen three people talk about, the Tarte 35% off sale (code FAMILY35) which has one day left, the effortless Atritzia pants that EVERYONE is pushing right now, and TOMS are having buy one pair get one 50% off (I know a lot of us maybe aren’t big TOMS people, but my mother-in-law is a nurse and these are her go-to shoes so I got her some new ones and I’m very excited!)
*Adding because I forgot—Velvet Caviar is having a buy one, get one free Anniversary Sale!!! I have a yellow phone case coming HOPEFULLY today.

20% off my favorite CBD drinks from CANN with code LUCY20
15% off my favorite EBY bras with code LUCY-15

20% off Mingle Mocktails: I’ve tried multiple flavors and this variety pack is my favorite — perfect for a night in or mixing with something more buzzy
15% off at lolavie.com with LUCY15 (I pretty much have ALL their hair products but the detangle is my #1)
15% off at cocoandeve.com with LUCYOC15 (self tanner)

I find myself watching Summer House multiple times a week just to get that high back. It's truly the best right now.
