Good morning!
I hope most of you have this fine, inferno of a Friday off and get to enjoy the long, record breaking heat wave of a weekend in peace. For me, it’s been less than relaxing ever since I said I would “lose it” if the Deuxmoi rumor of Taylor and Travis’ wedding dress code being “top hats for the gentleman and long gloves for the ladies” came true. People are really mad at me that I would deem that dress code ridiculous but….. I stand by my statement!! IT’S 100 DEGREES OUT!!!
Anywho, you live and you learn! Don’t engage with people on Threads about Taylor Swift (or Love Island USA)—little do these people know, I’m a fan of them together! A believer! But I digress.
The girls’ finally went back to school aka daycare (people are confused I call it school, but they’re smarter for it so it’s school to me) this week and it has been glorious. GLORIOUS. I’ve had people ask me to write a post about how we helped the girls’ transition from Chicago to KC, but I’m not sure we did anything ground breaking?? Certainly nothing that would explain how both of them walked into that school, waved goodbye and didn’t cry even once. The teachers are even confused at how easily they jumped in and my only explanation is they’ve been stuck with me and each other for three weeks straight and they were over it.
So now here I sit, alone, slightly stir crazy, spamming you all. I am once again inspired to applaud both stay-at-home moms and teachers—because I could NEVER. I miss them now that they aren’t here, but taking on those two full time, six months pregnant….I am tired. I need a nap just thinking about how we got through the last few weeks. And now I can’t to focus my energy on the house. Surprisingly though, I got more done with them at home than I have with them gone. It seems my body instinctually is waiting until I have a full week of aloneness before committing to my closet and I’m not going to fight myself on it.
It’ll all get done—it’s just WHEN that I’m unsure of…
And so, as I sit here spiraling about my many renovation projects, what I’ll have for breakfast and the Substack post I’m committed to sharing next week (stay tuned for that doozy), I hope your long weekend is more relaxing than mine and filled with sunshine (but not too much), booze (pour one out for me) and a level of whimsy that can only be found in sparklers, bomb pops and those giant white cakes with fruit laid out like the American flag on it — we will be home, changing out light bulbs and enjoying our mortgage….AND GETTING OUR KITCHEN FRIDGE AND NEW WASHER DRYER!!!!!
It really is the little things (with big ticket price tags) that keep you going, isn’t?3

It’s A Love Story
Talking about Taylor Swift—good or bad—is NOT for the faint of heart. I currently have some pretty heated comments on my thread from people who, just like me, have zero idea what’s going on but feel extremely impassioned that I have a problem. But is that going to stop me from speculating?
I’m still leaning towards the theory that it’s a label announcement party which plays nicely with it being Independence Day. But IF it is a wedding…there is no way they are requesting people wear top hats and LONG GLOVES….as previously stated, it’s a million degrees in New York!! I don’t care if it’s a throwback to Love Story or when he came on stage with her he was wearing a top hat or that they’ll be inside, it’s insane! As is the fact that we could see so much of their wedding decor/food/baby grand piano arriving at MSG. You really think we had lobster delivered on Tuesday for a Friday wedding? I think NOT. The idea of Coach Reid eating a lobster roll in a top hat is quite literally too much for me and we should all be praying some of these headlines are rumors for that reason alone!
I will admit, as I’m writing this, Mama Kelce has arrived at Laguardia. Again, FOR ME, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, this is all too blatant. It’s too “here we are and this is happening and we dont care that the plastic on the pink sofa’s has ridden up so you know they’re pink”….I just don’t believe it!!! I’m sorry!! Maybe they don’t care that the police are holding binders that say TAYLOR AND TRAVIS’ WEDDING, but Taylor loves things to be private until she’s ready! She loves a convoluted riddle!! It’s a gift and I just don’t see her and Tre Pain suddenly going lackadaisical for the most important day of her life?
We might never have the answers we seek. Even now, I’m eating my words as Lena Dunham, Gigi and Brad, Adam Sandler all arrive at MSG, so the only question that remains is….
And, if you have doubts like the people on Threads, please know that I am a Travis and Taylor fan and will be refreshing my phone for the foreseeable future. I’m in deep.
Love Island UK Casa Thoughts
If you haven’t watch through Thursday’s video….spoilers ahead!
Guys, I’m concerned. I’d be less concerned if production had sent in some fine ass men for the Villa ladies, but alas, they sent in a bunch of twenty-one-year-old who swear they’re here looking for a wife so I’m extra concerned.
So while the women find Priya a connection, the men are having a HAYDAY with the six Casa girls who could moonlight as models. I honestly feel bad for these girls—any other season they could have easily been main Villa girls, this cast is just so stacked they’ve been forced to fight for their spot in Casa Amor. That being said, I think they’re being pretty successful and I fear multiple heads have been turned. Even Fitzy was misbehaving—I don’t care if it was a challenge, he was WAY OUT OF LINE MAKING OUT WITH TWO GIRLS!
I said I wanted Kavan and Jasmine to break up, but I don’t love how this is going to make her feel. And it’s not like Lorenzo will be opened for business—he’s SMITTEN with Julia from Poland and I honestly don’t blame him because she is cracking me up. So is the other blonde who I can’t tell apart from the other blonde who randomly made out with Samraj sitting on those low chairs. I actually think Fitzy and Finley are the ONLY ones not to kiss outside a challenge and they’re barely hanging on.
My prediction is Lorenzo, Aiden (if anyone will couple up with him) and Kavan will bring girls back. Simba is a wildcard since he just made a girl cry but I do think he’s laughing a lot with that one girl and Samraj will have fun but be strategic about staying with Priya. Sean will be in the dog house by movie night, if not before, and Finley is a sweetie and will come back to Ellie who is OPENLY CRYING OVER HIM BACK HOME!
Obviously there are a LOT of sales happening for 4th of July but I feel like I’ve hit you over the head with enough that I’m just going to share a few of my newest obsessions.
