Luce Ends: Aug 7th

I'll call it fall if I want to!

FYI there are probably typos in this one but I cannot be bothered to edit any further! Sue me!

Let me say this loud and clear—if I, an extremely pregnant woman who is not having their baby until LATE FALL, would like to claim that all of August constitutes as fall….I WILL DO SO.

I’m not changing your weather or erasing the 100% humidity. The sun will still shine and you can still enjoy your summer vibes….but I need to believe it’s fall. At this time, my sanity is more important than yours and I will not be bullied into saying it’s summer while corporate America throws up back-to-school and pumpkin displays. I won’t! So you live your truth and I’ll live mine and we’ll meet somewhere in September where we both can agree…and then come November 1st it’s the holidays and I don’t want to hear any of your bitching about fall being too short…you had your chance!

Alright, now that that hormonal rant is out of the way….happy Friday! A day we can universally agree is better than most. It was another blur of a week, hence why this is late, but the exciting news is…I got to see the baby! I also had to drink that nasty drink, which I think people exaggerate that (it wasn’t bad at all this time), but we’re getting extra ultrasounds this time around since I’m old AF and it’s a real treat! Allegedly this baby has a lot of hair??? So stay tuned for that reveal come October.

I don’t know why and I know I’ll most likely be proven wrong, but I’ve really been feeling boy lately. My mom thinks we’re lying to her and that we have a girl name picked out and just aren’t telling but really…the boy vibes are just that strong that girl names are extra hard this time. Something about this time feels different. Chiller. So either this is a girl who is playing tricks on me or I'm about to have the surprise of a lifetime. TBD.

THAT BEING SAID….I have never had a more painful pregnancy. My original doctor assured me it’s normal and this doctor echoed those sentiments—you don’t pop out three kids in five years and not do a number on your ligaments—but somedays I truly wonder how I still have so much time left. What I keep reminding myself and would remind any pregnant woman is you do really forget a lot of this. I don’t think I’ll forget enough to ever trick myself into doing it again, but I forgot the arthritis I had with Coco (I had to wear hand guards because I’d wake up with stiff hands) and I sort of forgot being nauseous the ENTIRE TIME with Frankie (emphasis on sort of) but I'm not sure I’ll forget how feeble my crotch feels this time around or how my pelvis feels like a wishbone that someone is slowly trying to snap.

But anyway, enough of the fun stuff…..onto the Luce Ends!

This is one of those week’s that the hits just kept on coming in terms of celebrity news. On their own, these were headlines that went in one ear out the other, but when they pile up like they did, it suddenly feels much more chaotic and therefore more necessary to touch on.

• ‘Vanderpump Rules’ alum Tom Sandoval claims ex mocked his ‘tiny penis,’ kicked him in groin during heated fight (read here)….I’m not sure why he shared this???

  

• Pete Davidson Spotted on Date with Brooks Nader’s Sister Sarah Jane (read here)…maybe it’s wrong but I loved when Pete Davidson when on a dating spree and I’m hoping he’s about to again!

• Tom Sandoval’s Ex is Allegedly Dating Chris Angel (read here)…not much to read, but still…WTF

• Amanda Frances Exits The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After One Season (read here)…I truly could not be happier about this news, I have an irrational dislike for this woman, I think she’s a huge grifter and believe what she did to Kyle Richards’ former house is a criminal offense

• The Betrayal of Brittany Cartwright’s Publicist (read here)…I was so consumed by Jax’s fake Smart Water ad/scam that I didn’t fully understand the depths of this betrayal…this woman is as crazy as he is!

• All the Signs Lorenzo and Julia Have Already Split (read here)…look, I didn’t think we had long for these two and that’s not why people voted for them, but we are barely a week in!!! Pull it together!!

What Would Nancy Do?

As I shared above, we’re getting close to the phase of pregnancy that should put me in a panic baby wise, but is really putting on the pressure when it comes to our house. Nesting is one thing, but I’ve discovered nesting with your mom living five minutes away and a new house to decorate is a whole other issue.

Last week we went on a race against the sales to get the rest of our patio furniture and it was a success!!! This week, while I was focused on a rug for the living room (see below), said rug worked better in the den and now we’ve decided the den fireplace needs to be painted yesterday. Which drove Bill to buy a saw, cut down the mantel and maybeeee do a little damage on the cabinets, so much so that they’re going to need to be painted too. Do I regret choosing this as the next necessary project in our home?

But that’s the update. I still owe you all a Wallpapering 101 post (it’s in my drafts for next week), I need to design the nursery and paint the guest room and finish my living room plus, now people are asking for inspo pics of this fireplace and a play by play of that project and I just need to you to know….this all lives in my head! There is no inspo board anymore!!!

And that should be concerning for everyone.

A TV Update…

Guys….I think we’re FINALLY out of the TV funk that is summertime! It didn’t help that this season’s Love Island USA sucked (I SAID WHAT I SAID!) but my DVR, while not set up, has remained empty. And it doesn’t help that Real Housewives of OC’s 20th season is giving us shit like this.

Truly, they should be ashamed of themselves.

Luckily, this week we got the new RHOSLC trailer which comes out in September, found out we’re getting a Summer House x Below Deck crossover and RHUGT premiers this week so my hopes are higher than they’ve been. And in terms of what I’ve actually watched…I think things are looking up!

House of Stassi (updated) ★ ★ ★ ★

If you’ve read my longwinded recap, you know these four stars come from a more wtf is going on standpoint than full on enjoyment, but I’m curious! Where last week I told you all this show was trash, they’ve turned things around on episodes 6-8 and peaked my interest and I need to know how they’re going to get all these people back in LA for Season 2, how they’re going to mention Scheana Shay without paying her and how Stassi and Beau are going to come back from that finale fight because….YIKES.

The Challenge S42 ★ ★ ★ ★

I LOVE The Challenge. Even the worst seasons, I’ve watched them. Last season, we brought on a GREAT crop of rookies and a lot of them are back please some newbies who I think are hilarious (LOOKING AT YOU, DEB!) and I can’t wait to see how CT skates through to the finale this time. I got Paramount just so I could watch on Tuesdays and it’s just amazing TV when all cylinders are firing and I thinking they are this season….it’s also wild Nelson is back and even more wild that half his job is to babysit Cory who is going to blow up his life yet again.

The Valley Reunion Pt1 ★ ★ ★ ★

Speaking of Scheana Shay….guess who got mentioned on ANOTHER SHOW. I mean, it’s really an epidemic, but it does break my heart to see Lala so upset about their fallout, despite it seeming to be very much her fault?? Which is not how I interpreted things back when she would not mention her name at Bravocon?

Anywho, this reunion was actually great in my opinion—Lacey really handed it to Michelle who did not have a good defense for anything, Jasmine secured another season just by having side conversations with Schwartz and exchanging eyerolls and Danny’s position on the couch was so perfectly chosen that anytime they panned to his AGGRESSIVELY BOTOXED EYEBROWS, I got a good laugh in at how small he looked.

Nia really does have five kids under four foot.

The most upsetting part was finding out Brittany gave that ex boyfriend, Brandon, close to $10k. The second most upsetting thing was how Brittany’s hideous reunion dress was somehow worse sitting down.

Good news—she looked GREAT on WWHL.
