Look Who's Talking Pt3
Yes, I'm pregnant. Again.
It seems my Instagram story has left many people more confused than I intended.
Let me be clear—yes, last night, while dressed as Ciara Miller dressed as the Lorax, I did show my bump and that bump is carrying baby number three.
I can see now how that was confusing. Not many people would announce in such a way. But when Ciara wore that costume in last week’s episode and I scrambled to find an outfit for my final Chicago trivia, it occurred to me that there really was only one option. And thus, you all had this to deal with.
You must be thinking to yourselves “is she insane?” “Was this intentional?” “She can barely manage two kids, how are we adding a third?” These are all very valid questions, many of which I have answers to and will share, but just know that, while I was an active participant in this process and do have previous first hand experience I used to inform our decision….I am in denial about the whole thing. Baby number three is lucky I even remember to take my prenatal at this point, they are distant thought most days because, as I’ve shared, we have a lot going on!!!
If you’re keeping track, the order of operations was….
got pregnant with our third
bought a house without stepping a foot inside, in a state we do not currently live in
I’d say it’s a lot, but as stated….denial! So I’m just dealing with one thing at a time and until last night it was putting on an orange leotard and showing off my big fat stomach and visible panty line (I am fat shaming myself and that’s okay—I’ve been glutinous this pregnancy and can’t gain control of myself!!)
Luckily for you all, we do have more time together for me to stress you out about my raging hormones and growing belly (with my first I didn’t say anything until halfway through and with my second I was seven months in and only mentioned it because I was headed to Bravocon), so this time around we’ll have loads of time for rants and questions….and I’d like to get some out of the way right now!
Let’s get a few big ones out of the way:
When are you due? October. I'm just saying October so when I get induced before my due date (which I will because mama does NOT do the full forty weeks anymore due to previously mentioned water retention and the fact that I don’t want to) and I don’t have the induction police coming for me down the road. Come for me now if you wish so I can block you early on but my children MUST be evicted! I am convinced my oldest would still be inside me if we didn’t kick her out (she came a week late and after 30 hours of labor) so I don’t want any opinions on this. I want the baby OUT already.
What are you having? THAT is none of my business—but really, we’ve never found out and I do love it so sticking to it this last time around because….if I’m having three girls, oh my god??? And if I’m having a boy, oh my god??? (that being said, not one person has guessed girl so I’m sort of panicked I will be having a little boy and do not know what to do with that)
How did you tell Bill? It was the day after Valentine’s Day (I could have taken the test Valentine’s Day but we had a lovely dinner with friends planned so ignored the test until the next day when we were slightly hungover) and I took it the second I woke up. When I saw “POSITIVE” test…I threw it at him and we went about our day parenting two toddlers.
What made you go for three? Delusion. Sheer delusion. To be fully transparent, the way my second born has been acting lately, I think if we hadn’t gotten pregnant when we did, we would have just called it quits because she is certifiable and I do not think she will be thrilled when the baby arrives. (but she is really funny and that’s all that matter, right?)
What came first—the baby or the house? The house has been in talks for three summers now. Once we had #3 on board, I became extremely nonchalant about the entire thing and just said “eh let’s make an offer” on the first house we’ve ever made an offer on….and here we are. I maybe should have been more chalant?
How are you feeling? FAT. Fat plus some doozy headaches to go along with eating everything in sight (my BP is fine, don’t worry!!)
Do you have names picked out? Boy name is on lock since he’d be da fourth, but girl names I’m all over the place because I really nailed Coco and Frankie and I just don’t know if I’ll get it right a third time.
I’m sure there are a lot more questions and I’m sure I will answer some of them (but not all of them because people can be extremely nosy??) in due time. Like I said, we have a lot more time together this pregnancy so I’m going to try not to bombard everyone but….that probably won’t last long so you’ve been warned!!
You didn’t ask for links but…let’s be honest with each other? I just revealed to you all I’m pregnant on top of buying a house this year so there are going to be links out and about. For those who are curious about some of my favorite pregnant items, stay tuned!
My Ritual Prenatal: I went with ritual this time because the mint which can help with the nausea — once I swapped these to the morning and took my iron and baby aspirin (I’m a low iron girlie with a BP that is gorgeous right up until delivery so we take all the precautions) my nausea got soooo much better so I really like it!!!
